The private event, which took place at the Prince’s Welsh home in Llywynwermod and showcased the musical, singing and acting abilities of 15 students, was an outstanding success. The sixtieth anniversary is an important landmark for RWCMD and a catalyst for several major developments. At an official ceremony, the College was officially inaugurated as the first All-Steinway Conservatoire in the UK, and one of only nine in the world, following the delivery of 62 new pianos from the Steinway Group.
In addition, the school have recently launched five new International Chairs in Music, generously supported by the Jane Hodge Foundation, and they are currently doubling the size of their estate with a raft of world-class performance facilities including a Concert Hall, Theatre, four Movement and Acting Studios and an Exhibition Gallery.
