The Voice of Emerging Artists in the Entertainment Industry

The Fourth Wall – the imaginary “wall” at the front of the stage, through which the audience see the action in the world of the play – an established theatrical convention. Whether we’re bursting through it or respecting it, sat in front of it or working behind it, it is one of the fundamental tenets of theatre. The goal is for Fourthwall Magazine to also become a fundamental resource for the profession.

And so a new era begins. Over fifteen thousand people apply to UK drama schools each year. They bring passion, hope and a unique voice to the profession. The Drama Student Magazine was launched in January 2008 as a voice for those people, bringing together a community of creatives actively pursuing a career in theatre, film, television or radio, either as an actor or behind the scenes. Two years later, we are immensely proud to launch Fourthwall incorporating The Drama Student. We hope that the magazine will continue to be the voice of those creatives, as they take their first difficult steps into a highly competitive but intensely rewarding industry.

To be the ‘Voice of the Emerging Artist’ we need to be informative, irreverent, amusing, intelligent, thought-provoking, accessible, challenging.  It’s a big ask, but we’re confident that we will live up to it. Expect informed debate, advice, humour, and above all passion.

If you’re considering training or already in training, then Fourthwall incorporating The Drama Student is your invaluable reference.  If you’re emerging in the industry, trying something new, or simply have an interest in theatre, then we know Fourthwall will keep you informed and entertained.

Wherever you stand in theatre, we want you part of this exciting publication.
